Re: Zimmerman is not guilty

I'm not interested in feeding the troll or debating the facts of a case that 1) Should never have been brought to a court 2) The vast majority of the public are forming opinions based on news reports and not by actually listening to the court deliberation and therefore have no basis for an informed logical argument 3) had nothing at all to do with race or stand your ground law 4) was subject to political influence and a dirty tactics by the prosecution including withholding evidence.

Bottom line here is that we as a CHL community need to reinforce with our fellow CHLers what it means to be a good witness and the consequence of failing to do so. If GZ had called 911 and stayed in his car to be a good witness, a loss of life would not have occurred. In my opinion, the justice system was abused by bringing this case but ultimately produced the correct verdict as GZ did not commit a crime by the letter of the law. He is guilty of violating our unwritten code of being a good witness and avoiding confrontation.

For those that do not agree with the verdict, I believe you can take comfort in the fact that GZ will pay the ultimate price for his stupidity in how he lives the remainder of his life. He will never return to a normal job. He will be deprived of his life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness as he is punished by the court of public opinion and will more than likely live the remainder of his life in fear. A guilty verdict and jail time may have been easier for him to deal with than the price he will pay for his freedom. I see this as two lives destroyed by the stupid decision to leave the security of his car and be a good witness.
