Re: AR scope

Find a Bushnell 3-9 (not the super cheap trophy though) or a 1-4 with some cheap UTG quick release mounts for your low light hunting and longer range work as they hold zero just fine. Then just pop it on or off when you want too.... There are some combo red dot with maginfication like pointed out here...budget and wife approval is the only limit.

For $885 mount included the trijicon 3x9 with mount might be a rock solid all around ; http://www.laruetactical.com/trijicon-a ... 04-1-mount" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or the Burris http://www.laruetactical.com/burris-xtr ... ical-mount" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; in 1x4 Both are illuminated.

for $600 ish http://www.laruetactical.com/aimpoint-c ... ical-mount" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; For Home defense or work out to 200 yards (for my aging eyes anyway) the Aimpoint with Larue QR mounts will sit with the scope on for 5 years.....something the Eotechs don't do or they have the Patrol version for $200 less....ymmv Do you use night vision much?

Spend a little more and they have the Aimpoint T1... all can co-witness with your iron sights for a best of both worlds. If the battery were to fail the big ring of the sight works like a ghost ring in the short indoor defense ranges of a hallway.

The Eotech does have the ring and dot which for some might be great. I had LASIK and the outer ring is a little dazzeling to me (like looking into the scanner at the store) when I try to make precision shots but would be great for fast shots on running hogs tec. Batteries are common but only last 500-600 hrs.

They best solution might be to get TWO ARs and then scope one with some good glass and the other set up for HD....but then you migh want a light weight one and a heavy barrel version...... Yeah 4 Ars should do....unless you have a two story home where you might want several on each floor :biggrinjester:

For what it is worth, I personally have one set up in the carbine form with light, and aimpoint for HD and daytime/nightime hogs on the run. I have a 20 inch bull bbl with a 6-18 mounted low on ARMs QD rings with no sights as a target, longer range precision hunter. The 6-18 is really too big for 99% of my hunting needs and I was about to get a 1-4x30mm to use for anything but punching paper for groups but then the country went nuts and supplies ran low. :banghead:
