I was at breakfast in a downtown hotel the other morning. There were 12 of us at a long table and just as I was shifting around in my seat (Ruger LCP, IWB at 4 O'clock) I heard a loud clatter on the laminate floor. Sounded just like a .380 magazine from a Ruger hitting and clattering across the floor! My heart skipped a beat and my hand went to my gun while I slid back and scanned the floor for the magazine.....I just knew I had somehow ejected the magazine when I rubbed the chair with my holstered gun but that was NOT the case.
Turns out the lady about two seats down dropped her fork
My wife saw the look on my face and asked what was wrong. I told her I just had a "hot flash" and everything was ok. She got a kick out of the whole thing later. "Guilty conscience" I guess.... Looking back, I should have been more "cool" and just looked down, kept my napkin ready to cover up and act like I owned the place. Must have been the coffee :)The Ruger carries so well, I doubt that I could actually eject the magazine as described above, but I had a few seconds there when I thought I had.
