I knew they were closed on Mondays, but I didn't realize they were open to LEO's exclusively on that day.

I'll edit my post to include that, thanks man :thumbs2:

Well, I'm glad to see no negative posts towards my favorite shooting range.

Red River Firearms, Sherman Texas

This is where I go, it's a local, indoor range, with a great staff. They're friendly, and willing to help, with anything from equipment questions (ie. holster recommendations, ammunition selection, etc), to shooting advice such as grip/stance.

It's also where I'll be taking the CHL course the 24th of this month.

Back to the range: 75 foot indoor pistol range...all calibers, 2 lanes set aside for the "big guns" like the S&W 500, or .50 caliber. Selection of targets, user friendly target distance/position controls. Very strict on safety. Very.

They'll allow .223 AR shooting, but you have to use their frangible ammo, and it has to be first thing in the morning, due to the noisiness of the gun. I've shot an AR/.22LR in their though. They also do IDPA shoots on a certain Sunday of each month.

They're open to the public everyday but Monday, I guess Monday is their day of rest.

Red River Firearms also does some LEO training, but I have no idea about which courses they offer or anything like that.

Hope this is helpful to anyone in/around the Grayson County area looking for a great place to go shoot.

One other thing, if you ever go there, check out the "wall of destruction", a mock up of a typical home/apartment wall. It has had a large variety of weapons, from .22LR to 12 gauge birdshot and buckshot, from .380 JHP to .45 cal JHP and FMJ, to 9mm EFMJ fired through it at 15 ft, It is a great illustration of what rounds can do to a residence, and a reminder to be conscious of what's behind your target.
