Our pediatrician has asked if we have guns in the home before. He then went on to recommend gun safes and trigger locks. This was all part of his standard child safety spill which also involved smoke detectors and child seats. His question was profession and non-intrusive, others may not be though.

I carry a Glock 23 mostly IWB. I us a C-Tac from Comp Tac. Your ability to be undetected with the G 23 IWB will vary on many things (your physical size and shape, the clothing type, color and fit worn and various others). I've been carrying the G23 for over a year and a half and have decided that I ...

I carried last year. I had to wait for the metal detector operator to get a LEO and some State Fair guy wrote info from my CHL. Rather annoying. I sent an e-mail the the State Fair with my complaint. I got a reply, but I was pretty much brushed off.

I'd replace "stupid" with uninformed. Otherwise, agreed.

The only mistake I see is that they knew what you were doing in the car. Though not illegal to openly carry a weapon on your property, it was a poor move at that time for appearances sake at the least.

I've posted the policy of my employer before. The jist is that IF a firearm is discovered it will be placed in a pistol case and security tagged (both carried on our ambulances) and then given to our local PD. That is an overview of our OFFICIAL policy.

My wife teaches at a GISD school and has heard of no dog searches. She also does not YET(hopefully) have her CHL nor carry a firearm for her own reasons.

I was at Nokia tonight for a kids "Go, Diego, Go!" showing. I disarmed in the vehicle with the expectation of metal detectors. To my surprise, no searches and no 30.06. Not sure if their policy and tactics change from show to show or not though.

I will agree that response times need to be nailed down as to what the start and stop time is. It is real easy to skew these numbers.
