Re: $350 to spend

brianm2004, From one of your earlier posts, I take it that you have an M4? With the right ammo, something frangible, she might be better off with that. She's already familiar with it, she likes it, and as long as you're not using the M855 green tip, it won't have much energy left even if it does pen...

Re: Which manuals do you recommend?

The way I see it is that you would want a good "How To" and a good reference manual. The best reference by far is the Sierra reolading manual. I've compared it to the speer and it's hands down the most specific. If you look up .223 in both you will find that the Sierra manual has sections ...

Re: wine tasting

57Coastie, I do agree with you, but was taking a different angle. I think that I have a responsiblity to the public at large as well as to other CHL holders, to be in the best mental state that I can be. I personally believe that I would be putting others at risk if I drank while carrying, however, ...

Re: wine tasting

Guys, This topic may be a moot point because any discussion of drinking can usually be addressed by taking a zero tollerance attitude for blood alcohol content. I don't drink at all for a number of reasons, but I also realize that some people do and it's their right as long as they do it legally and...

Re: Dillon 650

I started out on a 550 and bought a 650 to reload .45. I now use the 550 for .223 and really like it for that. The 650 is great for pistol cause I don't have to do as much and it really cranks them out. However, sometimes I like the control that the 550 gives me when I need to back up or double chec...

Re: Polishing brass with car polish

Charles, I've recently been trying the car wax in the bright orange container. It seems to work pretty well so far, but I haven't used it for more than a couple thousand rounds. It does keep down the dust inside the tumbler and the cases are brighter. Not that I care, but cleaner is usually better. ...

Re: 45 ACP loads for USPSA

I'm using a P-14 Limited that I bought about 5 years ago. It's been a great gun. I shot well right out of the box. As far as velocity, in IPSC you really don't need the best accuracy. I do very well on those rare occasions when we shoot out to 40 or 50 yards. I have never paid much attention to velo...

Re: Reloading .223

Jim, Tom had it right, John Feamster wrote "Black Magic, the Ultra Accurate AR-15". If you're shooting .223 out of a Bolt gun, then you can buy buy a special die that will just resize the neck. It's called a neck resizing die. However, it must have been fired out of YOUR gun to be sure tha...

Re: 45 ACP loads for USPSA

scshaffer06, I use a 5" Para in Limited and L-10. If you're into the game then by all means, you will want to load for the lowest power factor since everything in Production is scrored as minor whether you make major or not. Personally, my goal isn't not just the game. The game motivates me, bu...

Re: Reloading .223

Tom, I have a Dillon power trimmer and really like it. You need to trim with every reloading, as measuring every case will take you more time than just running it through. Oh, the Dillon Power Trimmer resizes And Trims your cases at the same time. Be careful when you adjust it or you will chip the c...

Re: ammo on sale

For those of you who prefer the .40 S&W (short and wimpy "rlol" ) Cheaper Than Dirt has Winchester Ranger 155gr box of 50 on sale for $13.33. Too bad I don't use it as it's almost as cheap as practice ammo. Here's the link. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/AMM564-64202-183.html -ss :txfl...

Re: Wait 'til next year

Ammend the Texas State and Federal laws prohibiting the confiscation of firearms during a disaster to make it a felony to do so; for all parties involved in the confiscation. Those who give the orders as well as those who carry them out. As it stands now, in a disaster, they could take your guns and...

Did you pay by credit card or PayPal? I'm not sure about paypal, but if you paid by CC, then you can dispute the charge. Thanks for the heads up, I'll be sure never to do business with them.

Even if you managed to do it without damaging your dies, you will still have Berdan cases that are very difficult to deprime and require a special tool. I'm also pretty sure that Boxer primers won't work in a Berdan case.
