Re: The Republicans Dodged a Bullet there

I think it's refreshing to find someone who is real, not scripted, and also intelligent and principled. In other words, Palin is pretty much the anti-Obama, with more governing experience to boot.

Re: Austrailian Political cartoons

The top cartoon is Ramirez, who does cartoons for Investors Business Daily. He's absolutely spot on almost all the time, and very conservative. But...not remotely Australian.

Re: Lying Politicians (All of them both Dem & Rep)

The fact that you title your post "all of them both Dem and Rep" is incorrect and clearly without factual basis. All of them? Don't you think that's a little over the top? Some of them? Absolutely. But let's not generalize. It just makes people think you're another frothing at the mouth ko...

Re: Press asks White House about AWB (updated)

I think it's pretty funny whenever any federal official talks about "hiring more police officers". That is entirely a state or local jurisdiction function, unless it's the Secret Service or something, which of course it's not. I remember Clinton giving some money to the states for "10...

Best concise TX handgun laws for CHL?

I've read through the TX handgun laws on the TXDPS website, and while most of it is pretty straightforward, there are the usual legalspeak passages that make it hard to put into simple terms. I've also gone through the handgunlaw.us website, which is generally very good. Can anyone recommend a websi...

Re: is the drury hotel on the riverwalk posted?

There are two Drurys on the river. The Inn and Suites has the direct river access, and the Drury Plaza is in the old bank building down the street. I stayed at the Plaza a few weeks ago (nice hotel) and saw no signs on either. I CC'd while walking around, but not when I went to the bars, since most ...

Re: Motorcycle Carry suggestions

I know more than a few of my fellow Harley riders use a fanny pack for their pistols. I'm not carrying yet (still a Harris County statistic, 120 days and counting) but will use my fanny pack as well as the Crossbreed Supertuck. Good fanny packs can be had from the Concealment Shop (http://www.thecon...

Re: The Nation vs. Algiers Point

The Nation story is definitely coming from one angle on this situation, and from their previous and current history, they are ignoring the "rest of the story". I've read Bird's book and it never mentions anything of the "racist redneck" Nation theme, but more that the residents o...

Re: Your input/experience on the Walther PPK and/or PPK/S

I have a PPKS now, my second one, though I sold the first one 20 years ago. The guns are reasonably well designed and shoot extremely well. Mine has been super accurate, particularly rapid fire, more so than any other pistol I have fired (which isn't all that many). My first one fed any kind of ammo...

Re: Why can't the rest of us just vote ourselves a pay raise?

Congress' pay raise is costing us far less than the money they are spending. While I think they get paid far too much for the job they actually do (for the most part), I don't think that salary is too much for what they SHOULD be doing. I am more concerned with the billions (yes, billions) of taxpay...

In that bottom picture, of you wearing the rig, it seems like it sits a lot higher than most IW holsters. Is it comfortable for you drawing from that high ride?

Crossbreed Supertuck and MTAC Minotaur

I ordered both the MTAC and the Crossbreed Supertuck, and both arrived in today's mail. Big hat tip to both companies for a very fast delivery, especially near Christmas! First, the Supertuck, for my Walther PPKS. http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee192/HarleyDocTX/temp/DSC02288.jpg http://i233.pho...

Re: Holster shopping on Saturday. Where's a good place to go?

There is a gun show at the Pasadena Convention Center this weekend, so that's an option, though the last time I was there, they had a limited selection of holsters. I haven't found a large selection anywhere in town, and being left-handed, find nearly none that I can use. Carter's Country has a lot ...
