If her actions were carried out as per orders/policy are higher going to roll?

Or, is this a case where DPS thought they'd find out how far they could push the public...?
Helleson should NOT have been the only fired in this situation. Is there a civil rights case being made of this?
I agree. Trooper David Farrell should have been fired too.

Yeah, you'd think a police chief would understand the importance of due process.

.....“I will not tolerate it,” he said. “If you are sustained in that allegation, you will not be working in this organization.”

In the four years since Halstead’s led the department, 14 Fort Worth police officers have been arrested on suspicion of DWI, including one who caused a crash that killed 27-year-old mother Sonia Baker in 2009.......

The one arrested Wed. had worked the DUI Task Force. :banghead:
I believe the Chief is finally holding his men to a "higher standard" and if I lived in Ft Worth I'd support him.
No one should have to face a drunk driver whether it's a drunk LEO, a drunk soccer Mom or a drunk Hobo. Drunk drivers kill.

now, back to DPS..... sorry to let the thread drift

I think it's lasted this long because it was a totally unnecessary, vile act perpetrated on two
women by folks that are supposed to be trusted. I also find it interesting how the members here
fall on one side of the line or the other. Food for thought. I found the voice track on the recording
fairly compelling. When at the scene, the woman stated that they did stick fingers in her orifices.
Not stated months later, but immediately after the fact. Was it a full on cavity
search? No. Was it a roadside sexual assault? I think so, and I think it was totally unjustified on
several levels. But, others have pointed out that since the ladies didn't "jump" or "wince" or were asked
to grasp their ankles etc ...then it was not a cavity search. I hope this thread stays at the top, because
I'm interested in knowing how, if anything, the DPS is going to handle this situation.
A lot of graphic detail. Is it needed? No, sue the state and the LEO's for aggravated sexual assault and move on. If the state chooses to hide behind its sovereign immunity, file a civil suit against the perps...and move on.
I truly did not mean to offend you or anyone else with the "graphic details". If you found that upsetting I'm sorry.
I feel certain that the 2 ladies involved feel the details are important. What the DPS does in response to the
allegations and/or pending civil suit continues to interest me. YMMV.
However, I am still interested in exactly how DPS is going to respond

Roadside cavity searches, my ear!

No Sir, immediate dismissal and charges filed. IF they were following DPS "policy", then I am doubly sick to my stomach. Thinking this could happen to my wife, my sister, my daughter, fills me with a level of anger I'm not comfortable having.
Like others, I am contacting my state rep tomorrow.
