Lucky, I agree. Prepared, not so much. Surveillance video might help catch the suspects after the fact, but would not have done anything to prevent the employee from being killed if the BG's had decided to get rid of witnessess. :totap:
In this case all worked out ok... however, all indications would normally be that it would not have had and there is no way to know. Generally, when robbers move you, it is for their benefit and not yours. In self defense you are taught to make whatever play you are going to right then and there, because the BG must feel that they are more vulnerable at that location. However, I am certain that had the owner/employee done so, he would now be wounded or dead. These guys are playing with fire. Could they have locked the doors? (It is a delivery business). People watching the front? Outside surveillance?

I am not arguing the fact that the employee could have been killed if he tried to attack the robbers. My problem is with the owners statement that they were "prepared" due to the fact that they had installed security cameras. Lock doors, situational awareness, outside surveillance, security guard, those are thing you might do to prepare. A security camera has never stopped a crime that I am aware of. :tiphat:
I wasn't didsagreeing at all.. in fact I agree. I was just riding in on your comment. They missed the layers ofsecurity which is what you do to prepare. I may get killed in the process, but from what I have learned, I will not willingly be moved to another location by the BG.

Except there were TWO robbers. Changes the dynamics. Don't know where the other one off camera was.

Head and crotch. In defensive handgun class we practice chest, head and crotch shots. Recently a man in a store robbery was hit in the crotch, breaking his spine and took him down instantly.
