Re: Certificates Received?
:banghead: :banghead: I was in the Tues class and handed my CHL-100 to Sherrie when she was grading tests. No update, guess I need to call them. Hmm when I had it to give to her at class, she told me no, to e-mail it to DPS. Do you have a copy? I'd just send it again. Interesting. When she posted h...

Re: 7 of 13 revolvers
OK, I have a question if someone shows up to take the test with a revolver, or for that matter with an auto that holds fewer than 10 rounds. The required course of fire at 3 yards says: B.Ten shots(10)fired in a “Two Shot Exercise” 3 seconds allowed for each two shot sequence This means that a gun ...

Re: Certificates Received?
Congrats! Now you can teach for 2 more years. They must do them in batches. Mine came today too. I noticed several on other sites saying same.sjfcontrol wrote:Received my cert in the mail today. Actually it was delivered yesterday.

Re: 7 of 13 revolvers
Many instructors had told me the new law wouldn't change anything as NO ONE qualifies with a revolver.... well I don't know what it is about my area (Brownwood) but folks here love their revolvers. Even prior to this change, I would always have a couple want to use a wheelie... I was able to talk t...

Re: 7 of 13 revolvers
So if a person qualifies with a 5 shot revolver, he has to load 4, then 4 more, then 2 more? Yes, and if you take a 5-shot revolver to the DPS range, you'll be the target of grief from the troopers, as they have to change their sequences to accommodate you. No? None at all. Though I had a 6, when i...

Re: Won't carry a CHL badge? How about a sticker?
I think we are talking 2 different kinds of places. The outdoor ranges key controlled I am referring to are usually out of the way, secluded with not many people at a time. We had a murder at ours here in Brownwood years ago and 2 years ago on Christmas day a man was murdered at such a range in OK....

Re: Won't carry a CHL badge? How about a sticker?
Some ranges are strictly monitored; some not at all. I won't go to the kind where you just have a key to let yourself in. Good place to get murdered for your guns, or shot by idiots who don't know any range rules (local outdoor range here in Brownwood for example). There are happy mediums. You just...

Re: Won't carry a CHL badge? How about a sticker?
The rest of us would be "hands in the air" as soon as the cops arrived (and especially as the BG had no weapon. Don't be too sure that's what everyone else would do. I see people sweeping entire firing lines of folks who should know better. But yes, sweeping is inadvertently pointing your...

Well here is where you can order them, and shows the advantage of having it! Apparently it prevents you from sweeping a cop....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EE7DHFNV6Y" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; What I find unrealistic about the video is that the GG would move like h...

Re: Won't carry a CHL badge? How about a sticker?
Since we know there's a market for this stuff, who here has the courage to admit they want a CHL badge or sticker? Anyone willing to step up to the plate? I think the REAL question would be who in here is running around wearing their CHL badge....... you know there is one or two or three :smilelol5...
