What would a CHL have done in this situation? I know what my first instinct would be if I was the only thing between my mother and little brothers at 2 a.m. and a man with a gun jumped out of a car and came at me yelling anything other than "POLICE!"...Cooper said all he and his cousin knew is that a car with bright lights pulled up and a man with a gun jumped out.
"He was saying "Stop! Stop! Stop!' We were saying 'Why? Why?'" Cooper said. "We didn't know he was a police officer."

Would the Castle Doctrine cover me from lawsuits/criminal charges here?
Would the police department be alright with "The CHLer said it wasn't until after the shooting that he confirmed the man with the gun was not mugger"? I doubt it.
