Re: Galveston County
I know and it's very much appreciated. Some say it feels wrong or weird to carry, I didn't really feel that, but I have been carrying at home and work for months now. I took the wife out to Saltgrass last night to celebrate and after we went to Academy, Fry's and Spec's, my wife was concerned with that last one, but it's legal, no 30.06 sign and since it's not consumed on premises, no 51% sign either. I'm not a Wally fan, but I guess I'll do the walk tonight or tomorrow, I already asked the wife to take the pics. I'll post when complete. I hope yours shows in the mail today!that1otherdude wrote:You Lucky dog... Re: Galveston County
Same here, a friend and his son who both work and live in Harris did it all about a week before me and have had their licenses for a couple of weeks now. As I've said in previous postings, I carry where it's it's legal and allowed (work, truck, home), but taking it off to get fuel or to go to lunch gets old and considering where I work, would be the places I would likely need the protection. Very frustrating.

Re: Galveston County
That's very cool, Rep Taylor seems very pro CHL, my senator has yet to contact me.

Re: Galveston County
Both DPS and the Rep contacted me, the DPS lady was very nice but once she saw I was barely past the 60 day limit, her concern "seemed" less to me, could've been a perception thing on my part though, but I doubt it.
No change today, still processing.

Re: Galveston County
You said it, living in this area has many advantages and disadvantages, but this is one I would never have thought of.
I have a new philosophy, I'm only going to check DPS once in the morning, I can only take so much disappointment.

Re: Galveston County
DPS called and said mine is waiting on Galveston County BC, they had no idea when they would get it. I'm not giving up. My State Rep Larry Taylor has been very helpful.

Re: Galveston County
You're about a week ahead of me, it'll be interesting to see when you get yours since we have identical home/work situations.

Re: Galveston County
I wish I knew since I'm a fellow Galveston County resident. But from what I've read they do a BC in every county listed on your ap and since I work in Harris, it's probably going to be a sloooooowwwwww process. But that doesn't stop me from checking 4-8 times a day.
