Re: Saiga 12 Converted
Yup, I've shot light birdshot loads, magnum loads and slugs, all fed great, there's a gas regulator on the Saiga's that must be switched when going from a light load to a heavy load, but it's as easy as turning a knob. I have the MD Arms gas regulator, a must have IMO, the stock one has 2 settings and the MD has 4 which is useful for only allowing as much gas as needed to function the action without allowing too much which can damage it over time.

Re: Saiga 12 Converted
I haven't had any trouble with the Surefire mags, or any mag as long as they're second generation, the first generation didn't have enough room for the top shell to move making it nearly impossible to insert a full mag. The clear ones tend to hold open the bolt on the last shot but will drop the bolt when the mag is released, but I think they're out of production so it doesn't matter. I shot it last weekend and ran 100 rounds thru it with no problems. Here's a vid shooting #4 1550fps magnums last weekend.

Re: Saiga 12 Converted
To say no would be a lie, but it's been months and I don't remember them. Buying the gas regulator helped a BUNCH with mine, my buddies not so much. Just do it and learn and hopefully you'll remember more than me.
Here's the link to the regulator. http://www.mdarms.com/scripts/prodView. ... oduct=1724" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Saiga 12 Converted
To move the trigger forward some holes have to be drilled and some opened up, nothing more than a hand drill needed, but I used a drill press. There are many websites with detailed instructions. Once dialed in, these things are devasting.

Re: Saiga 12 Converted
I paid $600OTD, if I had bought a few months earlier, it would have been $500, now they're well above that if you can find one.

Re: Saiga 12 Converted
Funny thing is it's much easier to shoot from the hip, that Tapco folder digs into my shoulder pretty hard. But to answer your question, it seems to kick less than a comparable pump and I assume that's because it's semi. But with 3" buck or #2's, it's pretty harsh. I leave it loaded with #4 2 3/4" for home defense.

Re: Saiga 12 Converted
The 10 round mags are in the $60 range if you can find them, way more than they should be, and they're going up like everything else black gun related.

Saiga 12 Converted
This is my Saiga defensive 12 gage, I installed the Tapco G2 double hook trigger set, Tapco folder stock, Tapco SAW grip, SaigaTech USA trigger guard, tactical light and cheap holo sight, it never malfunctions and shoots 2 3/4" and 3".
