It's actually true. El Niño, which we're in right now, can be enhanced by global climate change.
El Niño and La Niña are like opposite ends of a "pressure valve" involving moisture and heat. RElated to the North Atlantic Oscillation, which can allow very very cold temps from the arctic down.
It's like this: Your son is failing school. He's failed every test all semester. Just because he gets a B doesn't mean he's no longer in trouble.
And yes, I realize people are arguing about the kids grades in this example.
Before I became a computer person, I studied meterology/climatology, so I catch bits and pieces of the climate debate, and some of it makes good sense to me.
It's really simple to think, "oh, Dallas had a foot of snow, global warming's a crock!", but the earth's climate is a complex system. Much like when you eat ice cream too fast, the nerve in your mouth gets overstimulated giving you referred pain elsewhere, the climate is like that, too. Warming one place can cause all sorts of havoc other places.
I guess I'm just rambling. I don't mean to start an argument. I really, honestly, truly want it to be Male Bovine Excrement, I just don't think it is.
I dissagree with ya'all, but I still wanna play :)
