Re: The dog catcher "caught" my dogs in my front yard
My neighbor's mother in law got a warning from our local police department in their front yard. My neighbor also happened to be the mayor of the suburb, so at least they weren't playing favorites?

Re: Bullet falling from the sky kills Houston man
As a skydiver and engineer I want to point out there is no "Terminal Velocity" number in 1 ATM that can be used for simple calculations. A 230 grain 45 ACP round is going to have a MUCH higher terminal velocity than a 115g 9mm, and even more energy. The equation is https://upload.wikimedia...

Re: Employee parking lot protection and Antique/replica Cann
Does it fire?[/quote] Yes. With a fuse. So would a 3/4" cannon that is at least 26" long be "a firearm that may have, as an integral part, a folding knife blade or other characteristics of weapons made illegal by this chapter?" It would seem to be a requirement before the other e...

Re: Employee parking lot protection and Antique/replica Cann
I should follow up that my employer has stated they aren't really concerned with the cannon but they will not make any exceptions to the handbook. The parking lot portion prohibits weapons in the car unless the right is protected by state law.

Employee parking lot protection and Antique/replica Cannon
I recently got a replica 17th century cannon and would like to have it in my trunk while parked at work, until I can take it off site for an event. As a CHL holder would SB 321 protect me from my employers no weapons policy? Can you back this up? As a number of my co workers will be at the event I w...

Re: What's with getting out of the car?
Back in October or November the same happened to me, 76 in a 70 and I was instructed to get out of the car. Although the trooper gave me a citation instead of a warning. I was driving my Wife's minivan, and she was in the passenger seat. She is a paraplegic. Her wheelchair was behind my seat (fit's ...

Re: Johnson space center
I just returned from Space Center Houston (after leaving my handgun at home). The visitor center is operated by the Space education foundation and is across Saturn Lane from the JSC. They have lots of signs telling people no weapons, a bag check station, and a 30.06 sign very high and to the right o...

Re: Shot in Leg by Bathroom Stall Neighbor
The first week I was carrying my Sig P238 fell out of my flimsy holster in a stall, landed right on the hammer. IT slightly chipped the tile and put a blemish on the hammer that is still very apparent today.
It didn't go off, but I stopped carrying until I got a good holster.

I found this site on a Google search when packing.org was down a few weeks ago. I got my license in June and a good holster the first part of August (C.Tac) and have carried ever since. I would have gotten my license sooner, but I didn't have the time and money available at the same time. I am fortu...

Capital Metro buses in Austin, UT Shuttle buses
I went to Austin's Trail of Lights last week. Since the traffic is terrible, the city operates a shuttle from the State parking garages downtown. When I went to board a bus after a very long wait, some of the buses had the UT Shuttle logo (including the one I was on). I know these buses are owned by...

If they have any offices utilized by the court they can prohibt you. PS I am right around the corner from you in Wylie. Correct me if I'm wrong, but my reading of the statute says a person possessing a valid CHL is barred from courtrooms, offices of the court, etc, not from the entire building the ...
