Re: pocketknife repair

Don't have any others with belt clips. I think this is going to be a lot like sunglass repairs...trying to find a microscopic screw to fit. I'm just going to have to suck it up and buy a new one if the hobby/computer shop idea doesn't pan out.

Re: pocketknife repair

I believe Colt sold out to someone else who isn't producing the knives anymore. If I could find a shop with the same model, i'd buy another. I think this is a case where once they are sold out, they are gone.

There are some computer repair places and some model shops in the area, so i'll hit those. Grainger is my next thought.

Re: pocketknife repair

These are more like the screws used for glasses. (Oops, forgot to add optical shop to my list of 'been there'...)

pocketknife repair

Help...I need to find replacement screws for the belt clip for a 4" colt folding knife. To date I have tried: Home Depot/Lowes, Ace Hardware, gun repair shop, gun shop where the knife was purchased, automotive parts store, watch repair and yes-the manufacturer-they are no longer in business and do not have replacement parts.

I picked up a new gerber knife at Gander Mtn. and I don't like it...doesn't fit my hand the same-lighter weight (will they take it back?). Mostly i'm being stubborn and want MY knife.

It'd be nice if stores didn't have them all in blister packs so I could heft one and see if it feels right.

Suggestions for finding itty-bitty replacement screws?
