Re: ammo on sale
I don't want to start a stampede but I thought I'd let ya'll know I just picked up some .380 auto hollow points at the Academy in Cedar Park on 1431. I was in there around 11:30am and it looked like they had about 8 boxes left. The rounds are Winchester Supreme Elite and they have them priced at $20...

Re: Moving...
Just moved last month and went through this myself. Took DPS five business days to get both my and my wife's CHL to us. DLs took about three weeks.

Re: CHL being mentioned in accident report form
A few months back I was in an accident while on my way to work. When the LEOs arrived I handed over my TXDL, CHL and proof of insurance. The first LEO asked if I was armed, I told him that my firearm was secured in my glove box (where I had placed it after getting my car out of traffic.) He then inf...

Re: Employment background checks & CHL
I work for a very large company (think fruit) that I wouldn't exactly call "gun friendly" that threatened to run me through all kinds of background checks before I was hired. At hearing this I wondered whether I would be DQ from employment myself because of my CHL status. They made good on...

Re: Glock 29sf, Glock 30 or Glock 27?
I carry a G30 or should I say, "carried" a G30. With this recent hot weather I've switched to a mouse gun (Ruger LCP) so that i can wear shorts and a t-shirt. The G30 is a bit wide, 1.27" and I prefer to wear some kind of cover garment when I'm carrying it..way to hot for that right n...

Re: Looking for a CHL & CFP Instructor
Took my CFP class on Wednesday and mailed out the paperwork today. Utah should have everything tomorrow because I expedited it. :anamatedbanana The class was pretty bare bones (hardcopy outline, no powerpoint) compared to the CHL class that I attended on Sunday. It was administered at the gentleman'...

Re: few questions -sending in app tomorrow
I guess since i didn't do my application online and just took the course and used the instructor's packet, my yellow application page DOES NOT have a red number on the top right hand corner. I asked my instructor about an application number and he said I wouldn't have one unless I applied online. s...

Re: Looking for a CHL & CFP Instructor
Thanks everyone for your advice! My wife and I ended up getting our CHL class done yesterday (Sunday) at Law Enforcement Educators Training Academy in Valley Mills. My father-in-law swears by these people and I must say they did a great job! The CHL class if very informative and they made it fun. I ...

Looking for a CHL & CFP Instructor
Apologies if this has already been answered, I DID do a search and couldn't find the answer on my own. My wife and I are ready to take the class for our TR-100s but after having read about the wait time with DPS I thought it might be a good idea to also apply for a Utah CFP (at the same time) since ...
