At least years ago, in the mid/late 90's I received a ticket for my DL address having my parent's home instead of my apartment in college. Sounds nuts, but I definitely got a ticket for it. I even asked if it was reasonable to expect I change it, and was told, if you move I was required to update. Now if you went to court, it might play out differently, but not so in as far as the CHL not matching the DL.

Luckily, it was before I had my CHL, so since then, I've definitely kept them in sync and you should always have your DL & CHL in sync.
