Re: Got a few questions about my chl

No worries about the empty boxes on the card for your own records. Those boxes simply indicate the reason being fingerprinted (CHL License and the corresponding Texas statute) and the ORI info (agency identifier). You would only need this info filled in should you have to submit that particular card...

Re: THe Newest DPS Excuse

This is not what everyone wants to hear, but Hurricane Ike did take a toll on DPS and their resources. Three of the F.A.S.T. locations in the affected area have not even reopened. Voluntary civilian applications will always take a back seat to Public Safety/ State mandated fingerprinting requirement...

Re: Fingerprinting certification by PD

Ok, DoubleActionCHL, I give up. I spoke to a female today, 10/03/08 at the CHL office and she was not aware of any letter requirement. She did however, indicate that some kind of training was reccommended and that your authority to collect fingerprints lies with your CHL instructor License. I am not...

Although I am not a CHL instructor, I am a mobile inked fingerprinter in the DFW area and I often assist CHL instructors ...

DPS is not quite as strict as the FBI but prints still need to be classifiable and it is often hard with persons of advanced age or persons that use their hands for rough work or cleaning. Heck, even paper pushers h...

Re: fingerprint services in Houston?

There are a couple of very good mobile fingerprint services in the Houston Area. Go to an experienced fingerprinter. They will take care of you, if they are operating after Hurricane Ike. Try http://www.houstonfingerprinting.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Most of the I...

Re: July '08 Applications

Unfortunately, DPS did enter into a sole source contract with IBT for the F.A.S.T. locations and although the equipment is superior there is always an operator involved. Most of the F.A.S.T. locations are not staffed with experienced fingerprinters who can address fingerprint quality issues on site....
