Yet ANOTHER reason to need a CHL inside the Fair. How many of us, including me today, were wanded and they didn't even stop us??? Therefore, how many gangbangers could be carrying? She didn't even wand my ankle area although I don't know how those things work, maybe they don't need to but still, makes you wonder...
On a lighter note, the fried bacon was among the best things I've ever put in my mouth. The fried butter was not that great but I have to hand it to whoever created it for their good marketing skills. To charge $5.00 for 4 pieces of a glorified donut hole, impressive.

Re: A disappointing State Fair episode 10-1-09
Just got to the Fair. Guess they didn't find it with the wand. I had my audio recorder running and some polite diatribes waiting but ...nothing. It's $1 food drive day so what a deal! I hope we win this battle but just as 80% of our taxes are unconstitutional but we pay them anyway my feelings are to fight but go along with it if possible.

Oh, ok, thanks. I've just read another thread about the fair on this and other forums and got the wrong impression that everything was ok the first few weeks. It may of just been this selective enforcement. I like the poster's idea a few pages back about picking the line where the attendent seems the most disinterested.

Re: A disappointing State Fair episode 10-1-09
I'm going this Wednesday regardless, promised my kids so it's my choice ...or in this case, burden. I'm from Ft. Worth and never been so this battle will have to wait until a later date and maybe after the dust clears our advocacy organizations will speak up?
I wonder why there were no issues the first 1/2 of the fair and now they changed the rules on us? Guns will always be a "hot button" topic so even if there was 1 incident with someone leaving their gun on a ride it's 1 time too many, just like with firearm safety, there's NO room for error. I'm not saying that I feel it's a valid reason to abuse the spirit of the law but the gun issue will only become even more volatile in the years ahead so this is a good test of how to be professional and direct. Thanks to all the CHL advocates who have, and will continue to, bring this to the politicians and the public's attention.
