you know, I think that is true. least about the dog. I'll sure laugh at how people shoot, cause I KNOW I look like a goon! :lol:
but a man's dog....
that's, just not right :razz:

There may be a dangling participle in there somewhere, but I agree with you fully. No one should make fun of the way a mans dog shoots.

After all, they don't have opposing thumbs (or any thumbs), so its kinda hard to get a good grip on a weapon. You have to support them for trying though. :grin:

(7) discharges a firearm in a public place other than a public road or a sport shooting range, as defined by Section 250.001,
Local Government Code;

(9) discharges a firearm on or across a public road;[/b]

Ummm, don't these statements contradict one another?

Maybe it should read "private" road in (7).

What am I missing?
Nope. One might shoot from land you own (not a public place) across a public road, to other land you own (not a public place). If they only had (7), then it would not be illegal to shoot across a public road from private property TO private property.

Having both covers it. ;-)

Maybe I'm just "thick", but the way #7 is written, it seems to suggest that it is an offense to shoot anyplace in public "other than" (or except) a public road or a sport shooting range.

Then in #9 it goes on to state what we all know to be unlawful.

It still seems contradictory to me, or at best redundant. Who writes this stuff anyway?
