Re: home defence tools

Thanks for the thoughtful reply TxStar13. You're welcome, and thank you for your input as well. BTW, call me John (or Hsoi). TxStar13 is an old handle and I'd actually like to get it changed to "hsoi". Need to see if the mods can do that for me. I digress. I think you are absolutely corre...

Re: home defence tools

It is a thought provoking question, but I have a few issues with the author's analysis. I should note, while I am the author of the linked-to article, the quoted section comes from Karl Rehn of KR Training . The original article on KR Training's website is linked to in my write-up. The biggest bone...

Re: home defence tools

I don't think there's any 'one size fits all' best HD weapon out there. This is indeed true. For example, I live in Austin-proper, and given the layout of my house and property, a shotgun using something like Federal 00 Buck with FLITECONTROL wads could be alright (fairly tight patterns out to 25 y...

Re: 30.06 AMC Theaters

I can confirm signs at the AMC Theater in Austin's Barton Creek Mall. Saw them just a matter of hours ago. There are 2 true sets of entrance doors to the theater, both accessible only from within the mall (I saw no signage on the mall doors themselves, but they're big and long and I could have misse...

Re: Claude Werner Snub revolver class review

For the sights, he made a very positive comment about the guy's 442 that had the insert installed. Other than that he recommended painting, putting some bright tape on, or using a sharpie marker on them. I have done some of my sights and they turned out pretty well. Yes, he advocated chamfering the...

Re: Claude Werner Snub revolver class review

Can you share the cost of this two day training? I looked on the Rogers Shooting School site you posted and couldn't find anything about snubby classes. Actually Rogers does have snubby classes: https://www.rogersshootingschool.com/classsignup.php?id=34" onclick="window.open(this.href);re...

Re: Claude Werner Snub revolver class review

I found an AAR for the class from another student: http://hsoiblog.wordpress.com/2010/03/01/aar-snub-training-with-claude-werner/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Hi. I'm the "other student" that wrote that AAR. Haven't been active on this forum in a while... too m...
