I do not know where all of you live, but the "smog test" is useless in DFW. There are too many cars I see that could past a smog test if it was a life and death situation.

Re: Sb1588 to eliminate most vehicle inspections
Abraham she is legal. I love young people, but I find that some or most of the 20 year olds are trying to find a short cut to life.
It appears that folks go get insurance and pay the down payment and then never pay the premiums. Then the insurance company gis vest them a "proof of Insurance" card for six months. I did not know that was even possible. I know my cards are for six months, but I thought that was because I pay every six months.

Re: Sb1588 to eliminate most vehicle inspections
This deserves to be reposted and reposted. There are enough laws on the books that the LEO can more than sufficiently take the junkers off the road if they would enforce the laws. If it passes (I hope it does) then maybe the LEO's will then enforce those laws. In Irving if you are stopped with no insurance they are supposed to tow your vehicle, but it rarely happens. Just today one of my lovely church members told me her license was suspended and she had no insurance. Her license were suspended for no insurance and here she is driving with no license and no insurance.mojo84 wrote:Vehicle inspections are about as effective as gun control laws and the federal no-call list.
