I have seen LE in time past carrying 1911 with the cut out away. Also I remember the Texas Ranger Steward Dowell in Smith County back in the late 70's had a rubber bands around the grip safety.bulinm wrote:We just visited the Waco Museum two weeks ago. It's not posted, and I open carried my Officer's
Model with no problems.
I was surprised to see that some of our 20th century Rangers were two gun guys. Displays included
one two gun rig and a pair of engraved Model 19s, and at least two rigs and matched 1911s, one pair
with the trigger guards cut open.
It was a great visit, and highly recommended.

Re: What Do Texas Rangers Carry?
I am assuming they have removed their 30.06? It was definitely was on the door a few years ago. We visited the Dr. Pepper museum and when we arrived at the Texas Ranger Museum it was properly posted.EastTexasRancher wrote:If you are ever in Waco, I suggest a half day at the Texas Rangers Museum. May pistols on display, and you'll be amazed at the engraving and detail work that went into these officer's EDC pistols.....
