Yes... It's an improvement for teachers who want to carry to and from work, but I really don't see how this Irving proposal does anything useful to protect students. I suppose you could argue that a teacher faced with an active shooter could run to the car a grab a gun. In the 5 minutes it took the Newtown shooter to wreak his havoc, I don't see how a gun in the car would be much of an improvement.

I think it is a feel good measure. Last year before school began they had a meeting with all employees and told them that "they would be fired immediately" for a firearm in their vehicles.
I do not know much about the parking lot bill, but it should have something for those who discipline their employees for doing something legal.
