You are 100% right.
flintknapper wrote: When you consider this dealership is in one of the liberal bastions of Texas (Austin), I would almost expect it.
I agree again.
flintknapper wrote: The Covert's are good folks just trying to do business IMO.
Cannot blame anyone for wanting to "do business." I again agree. Thanks for emailing and posting Flint.

Re: Update

flintknapper wrote:I can share this much however: He stated that "they have No Position" one way or the other concerning Concealed Carry.
Flint
That is exactly what I thought someone would get if we emailed them. "They Have No Position" is the answer that most folks it this thread said it would be. No position is a position.

40FIVER wrote:It just looks like the Coverts are straddling the fence. They post a non-compliant sign the the CHLers know has no force, so they think the CHLer will just come on in. But the antis think Covert is one of them because they have a no guns sign posted. It looks like a business that wants to make everybody happy and not have to show their true feelings.

I would prefer a business that is completely honest. But we are talking about car dealers here.
VERY WELL SAID! This is what I think, but could not write. I agree 110% Thank you 40FIVER.

Flint it does not make a lot of difference to me either way since I am not in the area to do business. I am just speaking in general about ANY Business with ANY sign. "The proof is in the pudding."

It looks like the debate on the sign has gone to far to me. The issue to ME is not rather the sign is LEGAL or ILLEGAL for CHL holders. The issue to ME is that they even wents so far as to post ANY SIGN. I could care less rather it is 30.05, ghostbuster, or 30.06 sign it is just the fact that they "WANT" to keep guns out.

ONLY WHILE YOU ARE PACKING. Please stop trying to make it seem as though SINCE you have a CHL they don't want your business.
If they really wanted CHLers business they would not ask them to disarm. I can't believe that they could be naive enough to not understand how this could be offensive to many CHLers. That some CHLers would rather gpo somewhere else than disarm ourselves.

If they don't want anyone in their store while packing, its obvious that they don't want pistol packers in their store. .
:banghead: That is just a leap you insist on making, but it is absolutley without logic.
It sounds logical to me  Someone needs to explain why you would think they wanted people with weapons since they DO HAVE THE SIGN! At my Church armed people are welcome we DO NOT have a sign that says no firearms in fact I would like to put up the opposite - a welcoming sign.

I am going with "Liberty" on this one. It may not mean anything to anyone else, but it means a lot to me. Even a Ghostbuster sign that does not effect CHL it still means they have a problem with gun rights in some form of fashion - I will drive to the next car lot

The "Covert's" are an old "Austin" family and are fine folks. If anyone wants to know where they stand on the 2nd Amendment they can call Rox, Duke or Danay, they'll be happy to tell you.
They can say anything they want, but the signs speak louder than anything they could say.
It does not speak AT ALL regarding their stance on the second.
OK, I would like to know what you think they mean by that sign say then? Are they saying they are all for you exercising your right to carry?
