I have 2 dogs..one an Aiaredale Terrier(WWI British guard dog), and a beagle mix rescue dog, and I STILL keep my doors locked, garage door down and latched, and the side yard gate locked.

Just good common safety sense to me.
Wow, your Aiaredale is really old. :smilelol5:

I'm involved in my neighborhood watch, and I'll occasionally go for a walk with my dog around 10pm. There are several folks out this time of evening doing the same thing...getting their exercise after the blazing sun goes down. I'm amazed at how many people have their garage doors standing wide open with all the lights off, and how many people have their front doors open, with just the glass storm door shielding a predators entry. My house is sealed tighter than a drum...always. During the day, there are also several homeowners in the neighborhood that leave their garage and front doors open. I'm afraid that they are begging to be a target. The HOA and crime watch groups have advised everyone about the potential for BG activity, but some people just feel that it won't happen to them. I hope they are prepared for the unexpected.
