[quote="solaritx"]Have you had other people try and shoot it as well and get FTE???
My son in law has shot it quite a bit with a few FTEs. But, he shot it today for his CHL qualification, 50 rounds of practice and 50 rounds for the test and had a perfect score with no failures. It seems to be a bit finicky and likes to be super clean and well lubed.

Re: STI "Guardian"
I'm not sure of the brand of magazine it came with as it does not have a name on it. I have a few Kimber magazines but it doesn't seem to make any difference which ones I use.

Re: STI "Guardian"
The receipt stated they had fired 100 rounds with no issue. I didn't get through the first magazine. I should have sent it back in, I'm sure they would have made it right but it was just easier to let someone local(Lock and Load in Tyler) work on it. I would still buy another STI as it shoots really nice but probably not a 9mm 1911.

Re: STI "Guardian"
I have one in 9mm. It shoots real sweet except for an occasional FTE, 1 or 2 every 100 rounds. I sent it back to STI and they reamed and polished the chamber and checked the extractor. Then I couldn't get through a magazine without 1 or 2 FTEs. I had a local gunsmith install an Ed Brown extractor and oversize firing pin stop. Now it does okay if it is squeaky clean and well oiled but still an occasional FTE. I won't trust it for carry.
