I was able to snap a photo of my AK-74 before it was lost in a freak boating accident on it's way to a gunsmith.
What a shame after all that work I put into the furniture. I guess there's always the next one.
Those darn boating accidents get us gun guys all the time...

You planning on building or buying? I like that look too and found
this at AIM Surplus. I ordered the MOE LPK's and just picked up a couple of Spike's lowers, not 100% what kinda upper I wanna build though.
I saw the same deal, but they are sold out for now. That is a good price from a great company.

I'm just going down the AR rabbit hole, so I'm not sure
exactly what I'm looking for. I've got to play with it for a while and see what I really 'need.' Who knows, this may wind up being a knock-around truck gun and I'll need the weight and solidity and stability of the LaRue or RRA offerings.
As it is, the way my wife eyes this rifle when it's out tells me that buying another one is not too far down the road.
That is a good thing then. You can have two

I will fore warn you that the LaRue rail is heavy. If you are trying to keep it light and want a freefloat I would go with the DD lite rail, the Troy TRX or the DD smooth tube. I'm not arguing the quality and the location of manufacturing of the LaRue rail. I love LaRue and have spent way too much money with them, but their rails are heavy in comparison.

Me too
SCAR 17 is the one I'm really slobbering over, but until it's under $2k (and preferably closer to 1,600) it's out of the question.
Even then, it'll take several paychecks to save up for it... unless I'm finally full time by then.
I'm tired of working two days a week
If you can work just two days a week and still afford toys you are doing quite well...

74novaman wrote:Hm. I think thats the first time that I've ever seen a '74 brake used on an AR. interesting. Nice collection textoys.
First for me too. I wonder if it more or less effective than a vortex or some of the other popular brakes available.

Is that foliage green on your AR? I ask b/c I just bought a magpul set in Urban Dark Earth, it was a unique color offered by LaRue for a while but I found it for cheap at SOG Armory and they were happy to give me a deal on it b/c they had no box or any LaRue schwagg or anything. I'm happy but found out I had the wrong diameter buffer tube when I got home so it sits in my safe waiting for me to get a mil-spec buffer tube.

Had this for a while
It still looks like this since day one
What do you think about your bullpup? Is it an MSAR or a Styer? Does it take the AR mags? I want one and don't want another AR15 rifle. I want something different also considering the FN FS2000? Any thoughts +or-

Colt Commander, of the M1991A1 variety, ORM. GunKote, with some upgrades: an aluminum trigger, Nowlin bushing, beavertail grip safety, and plain black Novak's sights. It has been to Ken Crawley and had the following work done: slide-to-frame tighten, Novak front night sight, crown the barrel, dehorn for carry, and refinished. Smith and Alexander magwell, G-10 grips. All controls, as well as the upper, with the exception of the sights, barrel, and bushing, are what Mr. Crawley dubbed "Wilson Gray." The frame and the aforementioned parts are in black.
Very nice pistol with some choice upgrades. Let us know how it shoots...
