To be honest, I only recall having to send it back. It's been locked in the safe so many years that I just don't remember.RocTrac wrote:what issue did you have with the kimber?

Re: Best 1911
The first Springfield was bought in the '90's, a stainless loaded 5". After running several hundred rounds through it and still having problems, they wanted me to keep shooting it so see if it would get better. Instead I had Teddy Jacobsen do an action job.
Another Springfield, bought in 2002, was a 4" Champion. Service was much better this time, and the 2nd trip was only because they overlooked one of the issues I had doumented on the first trip. They proofed it this time by firing an unbelievale amount of ammo, over 200 rounds of various JHP.
There were three blued PT1911s and one stainless, all 5", with nary a hiccup.
BTW, the Kimber was an Eclipse Pro II.

Re: Best 1911
That may be true. However, my experience is as follows:AndyC wrote:That's likely quite true - however, others swear at Taurus Customer Service should anything need fixing, from what I hear
By the way, that's not a poke at Taurus' firearms - just their support.
Kimber - 1 trip back
Springfields (2) both new -#1 Springfield refused to take it back, said it would probably get better with use. Spent over $400 to make it reliable.
#2 - 2 trips back
Taurus (4) - no malfunctions ever, thus no need for customer service
