This was actually a program to enroll family members for $300 and after the first week when a few 'friends' were enrolled, they appear to be accepting family only. However, if you knew a life member well enough, as in personal contact, he could probably get away with listing you on the form NRA mailed out. The sponsor would have to submit the payment and your credentials would be sent to him.

This ends March 31st.

Absolutely! The Legacy Life offer allows for enrolling family members for the $300. Good through March 31st.

There was no change in the deal. Diane told me Friday that the only offer was the Legacy Life for family members.

But she also said they probably wouldn't question a life member signing up a friend.

Those who spoke with Andrew on Friday were denied.

We pushed the envelope on Friday and NRA now has a few more life members than they would have had otherwise.

It's obvious that the response was large enough that they had to start adhering strictly to the actual program.

I called also and got a different answer. The first time I chose option 3, it went to Andrew, who denied there was any program other than the Legacy Life for family members. I asked to speak to someone else and got Diane who reaffirmed that there is no official sponsorship program other than the Legacy Life which ends on March 31st.

According to her, they don't question someone sponsoring a friend under the program, but when I told her that I was trying to confirm the policy before posting to another forum, she didn't want me to. She was aware of the big sign up last year, which she said was also not an official policy.

She said that there was a website with this posted with some sort of code number for the discount and that code is definitely not being honored.

So you may have to call more than once to get this honored, but it's worth it.

I will also provide my NRA info to anyone who sends me a PM.
