And we have discussed why this is a bad thing.

Had your P3AT been lost or damaged in transit, it would become obvious that you did not adhere to the shipper's rules and you have no chance of collecting on your loss. I have sent several Kel-tecs back. They never asked me to do this and always offered to reimburse the next day air shipping.

I posted in another thread about whether UPS and Fedex are reconsidering their regulations.

This stems from some online gun dealers now shipping handguns via 2 or 3 day service, some UPS and some Fedex.

I just bought a Makarov from a seller in Indiana. His initial inquiry at Fedex resulted in a $51 quote for shipping the pistol.

Two hours later he got a call at home from the same Fedex rep, telling him that she was wrong and handguns could now ship 3 day.

Revised charges: $21
