Re: August Applications

Ok ~ I few of you wanted updates on the Kansas Pheasant hunting this past weekend. It was opening weekend and thankfully they are moving it back to the second weekend in Nov next year ~ this weekend it was like 78 degrees ~ that sucks for pheasant hunting!! The birds were spread out and sunning themselves in the milo all day long (we didn't have enough people to walk big fields of milo :banghead: ). We did manage to get 8 roosters between Sat and Sun morning and of course the worst weekend pheasant hunting in Kansas is better than the best weekend sitting at home ~ it was a pretty good weekend all in all. I'm pretty sore and tired but that's a good thing in this situation.

BTW ~ The website changed for me on Thursday to completed application but I still don't have the plastic. It may come today or it may come tomorrow which will be fine. But I keep having these dreams of a mail truck coming up 35 and getting into a wreck ~ letters scattering across the highway ~ mine ending up in some BG's hands. Then I dream of the DPS saying that I must wait 60 to allow for "Mailing time" before they will send me a new one!!! I hope the letter arrives soon so I can get some sleep ~ these nightmares are killing me!! :patriot:

Re: August Applications

I wish I could man ~ the whole brotherhood thing and all!! Unfortunately this trip is my father-in-laws and I'm just tagging along so I don't think he'd approve. Otherwise I would :patriot:

(I know......I've got it rough....but someone has to do it :thumbs2: )

Re: August Applications

If any of you have been following my posts I have been a little upset over the DPS rejecting my Pics. I cost me like two week of processing and that was frustrating!!!!! :banghead:

Well no more folks ~ I checked the website today and this is what I saw "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active" :hurry:

Happy day happy day!!! The only issue is I will be going to Kansas tomorrow for opening weekend of Pheasant hunting (not that this is a real problem) and I was hoping to have the plastic to carry on the way. Oh well ~ at least it's done. I'll update when I get the plastic and let everyone know how the first Wally World trip goes.

Good luck to all that are still waiting.

(Oh I almost forgot ~ I've been waiting for a while to say this ~ Queue the dancing bananas)

Re: August Applications

Congrats wmjstu ~ I think a lot of your factors may be accurate ~ I'm not sure if calling hurts unless your speaking to your processor. Maybe though ~ I have made sure to be polite just in case though ~ it's like getting pulled over ~ no need to upset/anger the person that you need help from.

Congrats again!! :hurry:

Re: August Applications

Ok ~ so I couldn't take it anymore and called the DPS today ~ I had my pics rejected as they were "to grainy" but got new pick and sent them O/N the next day. The lady at the DPS today finally gave me the timeline on the delay ~ listen to this ~ they rejected them on 9/30 and I received the letter on 10/13 (WOW what a delay thanks to snail mail) ~ I Sent them back in and they were recieved about 10/16. So that's 13 business days (almost two weeks) that was wasted!!! Talk about frustration!!!!!! :banghead: :bigmouth Oh well ~ at this point I hope to get the plastic by mid November if I'm lucky! One thing ~ can anyone tell me how they are getting details on what is left to do on thier app? I noticed that several people have said that they are just waiting on X but when I call the DPS they say that they can't see what still hasn't come in. They said that they can just see that it's processing (which is what I can see online also) ~ I'm not sure I completely believe them though as they had the timeline info above. Do I need to speak to the person that is working MY app? If so how do I find out who that is?

Thanks

Re: August Applications

Lonestar 48 wrote:Well, an update on mine from Oct 7...the DPS person working on mine told me that day that mine was cleared and she thought she would have my license the next day to send to me. A call later in the week...still looking for my license. A call the next week, still looking, but cleared. Last week, she wouldn't answer her phone; must have caller ID. All the time the site says "still processing". A guy at the 800 number said they must be waiting on something and they shouldn't have said mine was cleared until they had the license and it was being mailed. I know, it has only been 75 days, but I'm addicted to checking the website, hoping for an update since the time I checked 5 minutes ago! In the meantime, I bought an xxxxl shirt and I've been carrying my dewalt cordless drill in my belt hoping to get used to having something stuck in my belt! I carry the extra battery in a fanny pack and the set of drill bits in my shirt pocket; kind of like kevlar, but different. I pulled the drill the other day on an older lady in wally world...her cart had a rattling wheel on it. I think it was covered under justifiable force.

I'm glad to see you taking your carrying responsibility serriously. We NEED people like you keep those carts maintained!!
