I have owned three PT1911s and still have 2 (both SS) They all were/are extremely accurate and I have had zero issues with them (as well as the Taurus revolver I own). From what I have seen, 75% of the Taurus bashing comes from people who "heard" or "read" something (often the same story repeated over and over). Another 24% comes from people who just can't stand that they paid 3X as much for something that is maybe 10% better. I normally consider rails to be blasphemy on a 1911, but one of my PT1911s is railed and is my nightstand gun. Fit and finish is better than many of my higher priced guns.
