I've been waiting since mid July. I've got my IWB holster softened up and ready. I visit the range at least once a week to practice. I take tactical classes to improve my skills. Whenever my application is approved, I will be mentally and physically ready to carry.
I hadn't imagine it would take so long since I have a perfectly clean record - no court cases, no legal judgments, no trouble with the law, no speeding tickets, no parking tickets, no delinquent accounts, no alimony, no questionable associates, no mysteries whatsoever, consistent employment and residency. My application should be easy.

Almost Got Out
When I saw a letter from Texas DPS in my mailbox, I thought I my wait was over. I was heading for the exit to the Waiting Room. I opened the letter was disappointed to see that my application is delayed because of hurricane Ike. No estimate of completion given. I have to keep my Waiting Room seat for a while.
