It was reported that KN toddler, was showing off his pistol and tried to rack and make ready and squeezed the trigger just to keep a grip.

My speculation:
I guess, the real owner of the gun, stored the handgun in his kid backpack when the LEO were around and/or the owner was afraid that LEO would conduct a search. Owner never removed the handgun when the kid went to school. The owner most likely is prohibited from having a firearms.


I doubt that a 6-yr old kid, would be interested in having a gun at school and in his backpack.
