Plastic In hand after a 96 day wait.
E-mail the governor and your district rep. It seems to help.
Good luck to everyone.

Re: July '08 Applications
Received a letter today from Stanley Clark, Director of DPS, stateing that they had been contacted by Governor Rick Perry's office in regards to my application. Mr. Clark stated that my delay was due to my first set of printd being rejected by the FBI. The second set was received by them on Aug. 28, 2008. Mr. Clark said DPS would make every attemp to expedite further processing of my application.
My problem is, on the 17th of Sept 2008, I received an e-mail from Christopher Pierce that said my background checks were complete and my license was going to the print shop.
As of today Oct. 7, 2008, 20 days later, my status is still PROCESSING APPLICATION.
I cannot see how that is "expediting" anything.
It is nice to know though, that the Governor's Office does take some action on our behalf.

Re: July '08 Applications
I called DPS today, the third time this week, and talk to a fellow named Steve, who told me they were waiting on the license to come back from the print shop. He also said it takes about two weeks to finish the processing and them to the mail room. We shall see.waterpump1 wrote:well i called DPS today to check status the first tech i got told me still processing. I asked why they told me last week all that was needed was to mail license. Her response was they were wrong. Called back 20 min. later and got Jessica she says it was approved on 9/24/08. And license was being printed she said it should not be much longer. I hope!

This is the e-mail I received on Sept. 17. When I asked exactly what that meant, this was his reply.
That message means we are on the last step of processing before the license is issued and mailed.

That was two weeks ago.
I sure would like to know what that LAST STEP is. you can't get a straight answer from anyone .

Re: July '08 Applications
I am totaly fedup with DPS. Two weeks ago they said my plastic was at the print shop.
Two days ago I spoke with a guy who said it was still processing.
Yesterday I spoke with Simone and she said it was in the print shop.
I don't think anyone has a clue of what is going on.

Well, it's Friday afternoon and another week has gone by. It is hard to believe that it can take two plus weeks to print a small peice of paper.

Simone,
I have been told ,several times, that all my background checks have been done and all DPS was waiting on was my fingerprints.
SO WHY ARE WE STILL WAITING ON "COMPLETTION OF THE BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION."
74 days have gone by. If they don't have my background by now, they never will.

This is the response I get from DPS.

Re: July '08 Applications
That seems to be their standard response. I have lived and worked in the same county for 15 years, with a perfectly clean record, sowaterpump1 wrote:Day 61 after about two weeks and call to DPS I received reply to two emails one stated everything normal one waiting completion of BG checks. One atated fingerprints accepted waiting on BG checks Hopefully that means not much longer
it should not take this long to check me out.

Re: July '08 Applications
There hasn't been much activity in the July thread for awhile now.
Day 79 and still no word. Might have to make a couple of calls again.
