I know...I wonder how many folks Galveston has working their background check requests. It would be nice if DPS could utilize the information gathered not more than a year ago (at the expense of the tax payer no less) and use that to approve the license rather than have to wait on the locals and repeat what has already been done(and continually updated). Besides, that govt check was a great deal more thorough than anything the DPS could do. It asked for all previous addresses. I'm told the process is the same for everyone. I too was hoping for some expeditious treatment due to having already been through a full FBI security clearance. No dice. 60 days will happen for me on the 22nd.
