The FBI check is not the delay. They have one trooper doing the local checks for all of Houston. Population 2 million.
I know...I wonder how many folks Galveston has working their background check requests. It would be nice if DPS could utilize the information gathered not more than a year ago (at the expense of the tax payer no less) and use that to approve the license rather than have to wait on the locals and repeat what has already been done(and continually updated). Besides, that govt check was a great deal more thorough than anything the DPS could do. It asked for
all previous addresses. The first one I put down was "womb"
