Today I checked the web site expecting the same old 'Processing Application...' screen. To My surprise it said 'Application Completed - license issued or certificate active'. It only took 82 days since they received my application. I have spent the last 82 days studying on CHL, training at the range, reading several books by Chris Bird etc.... It was time well spent. I feel like one of the lucky ones.
It sounds like they are making some progress down in Austin.
Still waitig on plastic.

Re: May Applications
I called today! I received the same answer.jlewis240 wrote:I called DPS yesterday just because I'm impatient, and they said "everything looks good". They told me they are waiting on the background checks which they said could take a couple weeks. Almost there. "The Computerdude" gave me some hope. Our timeline is running about the same.
Come On CHL......

Re: May Applications
I do not know who I spoke to. It was a male who sounded like he was really unexcited to speak to me, however I was very impressed at the fact that the phone was answered immediately. I was not put into a hold queue at all. I bet they get hundreds of these calls per day.

Re: May Applications
Yesterday I hit the 70 day mark since they received my paperwork in Austin, so I called to ask if there were any problems with my application. I was told that my application looked good, no problems, and that it was sent to imaging on 7-23. I should have asked more questions, but I didn't. I assume that imaging means that they are acutally making the card, and I would also assume that they would not do that unless everything else came back ok. Does anyone know if I am off base on my assumptions?
