Re: Never going to QUAIL CREEK again!
It would seem ironic that I was reading this thread just prior to me going to the Quail Creek Range. After reading everyone comments, I decided that I will give it a try and judge for myself. I arrived there today around 10:00 am. There were 3 or 4 people on the rifle range and 6 on the pistol range. The individual in the front office greeted me with a smile and I paid the fee and purchased a target. Everything else I need I had with me. I walked out to the range and hot fire was in progress. The RO greeted me and told me I could chose a place on the line. I did so and and then stepped back off the line as there was only one minute left in hot fire. When ready to post targets was given I did and went back behind the line. When hot fire was given, I loaded and fired. I was there for what seemed like three hours. I saw people come and go and there were no incidents or any difficulty with the RO. He did help a young woman who would not listen to her husband and what he told her must have work as her shooting improved greatly. Her husband apparently has been using a firearm for a long time as they were right next to me. He had fired fifty rounds and all were within a 3 inch circle in the 9 zone. I on the other hand was becoming familiar with my new Springfield Armory XDm .40 S&W. Most were together but in the lower left quad which indicated that I am experiencing some finger pull. Over all it was a quite enjoyable event. So I must have had a good day. I don't think that bad guy is there anymore. Only time will tell.
