Re: Gun-rights advocates want to allow Arlington teachers to
I have several friends that are employed by school districts. They brought this discussion up during lunch. The immediate reaction from everyone was - that is a bad idea. There was no discussion among them other than guns just don't belong in the hands of teachers at school. I kept my mouth shut. My...

Star Telegram: Suit says TCU falsely depicted campus as safe
Basically, a woman was allegedly raped by 3 men with criminal histories on campus. She is suing TCU because they advertise to be safe. Here are some interesting quotes: According to documents entered as evidence, TCU is in a low-crime area, but even so, there is no way university personnel could hav...

Re: College St.: Young girl stabbed in fast-food restaurant
Gems of wisdom from a person in "condition white": (from the article) Lough added, "You think you're safe, and then, really, maybe not." Lough, a Callaway Villas resident, said, "With a gated community you feel a little safer...If he has the key to get in, then it makes it n...

Re: Tulsa Home Invasion
I don't know if I am reading about more of these self-defense situations because I am looking for these stories or if they are happening more and more. It is obvious, however, that being a criminal is a dangerous occupation where citizens have the right to protect themselves, as it should be. I wond...

Re: Accidental Discharge in Houston Restaurant
Just out of curiousity, what could they charge this guy with? I have read of many derringers firing when dropped. Probably because of the firing pin - no safety thing mentioned earlier. I guess if you carry one, you need to be darn sure to not drop it! That sure does sound negligent to me. I would b...

S&W 642 around the house when I am in sweat pants and such.
9mm the rest of the time.
I put 38 special because I am more of a couch potato than out of the house!
Oops.

This seems shocking to me! What motive would anyone have to do this? I have never heard of anything like this. What a crazy world.

Re: AUSTIN store clerk prosecuted for shooting man stealing
I don't understand how he violated the statute? Does anybody know what the prosecutions actual case is? Covering up evidence does NOT mean he violated deadly force statutes. It might mean he impeded an investigation.

Re: Chucky Cheese in Allen, TX is posted 30.06
If the sign is the same as the one in Chucky Cheese-Hurst, the letters are definitely not 1" in height. The letters were closer to 1/2" in height. You can ignore the sign. I chose not to say anything to management, because they would just correct the sign. It kind of makes you wonder why s...

Re: Road Rage Witnessed
Just to be clear, I witnessed this, it did not happen to me. There was no escape route for the trapped vehicle except reversing, which would have been nuts with oncoming traffic! As for 911, I can tell you that there was not time for that. The guy slammed on his brakes and got out of the car as soon...

Road Rage Witnessed
I witnessed an incident in Fort Worth. Without going into too much detail, a guy freaked out because another driver failed to accelerate after leaving a school zone. He cut me off in order to flip the other driver out and then got in front of the poor guy. I say poor guy because his only crime was m...

Re: Murle's Gunshop in Granbury
Go to the Pirate's Den instead. Murle is the joke of the town. My theory is that the shop is fully paid for, because there is no way he makes enough money to run that place. I have never found anyone in town to have a good experience with him.
He just hates having a customer in the store.
