Re: Want to buy or borrow Blue Guns

Holsters of all sorts are commonly built using blueguns. Leather is quite forgiving, and any inaccuracies resulting from the resin shrinkage used when forming blueguns can usually be compensated for when breaking in a holster. To give you an idea how detailed and precisely molded the resin-based dummies are - you can usually tell if the original firearm that was cast for the mold had a brushed metal finish. You can read all the serial numbers, as well as the etched graphics applied to the metal. They are extremely detailed. The only downside is shrinkage as the resin cures, but the shrinkage is usually very minimal. I've seen other makers complain the aluminum dummies also exhibit some shrinkage, but I've never measured any of my dummies to make any comparisons (if I had something to measure against, I wouldn't need the dummies). The aluminum dummies I own are extremely underwhelming as far as detail is concerned. I'd rather use a resin dummy 100% of the time given the option.

Re: Want to buy or borrow Blue Guns

Check out Bluegun Store - they have a rental program that might help you. Still costs a bit, but cheaper than buying new.
