Re: North Texas Irish Festival

Just as a future FYI, I was still unsure about the whole concealed carry at the NTIF, so I contacted Fair Park administration.

The guy on the phone was extremely helpful, and referenced this on their website:
Weapons and sharp metal objects, such as pocket knives, scissors and the like, are not allowed. The State of Texas does allow a person holding a valid concealed handgun license to enter into Fair Park with a concealed handgun. However, during the State Fair of Texas and some other special events, licenses will be examined at the entrance by an authorized security supervisor. In accordance with Texas laws that protect “premises where a high school, collegiate or professional sporting event or interscholastic event is taking place," handguns are never permitted inside the Cotton Bowl.

He said all venues and attractions held at Fair Park ARE CHL friendly, with the acception of the Cotton Bowl, as indicated above. :thumbs2:

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think it would be 51%.
Yeah, alcohol is served, but combined with everything else there, I don't think it is 51% of gross sales. Obviously, I don't plan on drinking.

This one is hard for me to decide.

Re: North Texas Irish Festival

So, the consensus is that concealed carry (with a CHL) is legal at the NTIF in Fair park?

My wife and I are planning on going this year in March, and will probably ride the DART down, but ONLY if I'm packing the entire time. Otherwise, I don't plan on going down to that area at all (or riding DART on the weekend, for that matter)

I did see the "no guns of any kind" message on their website, but it's obviously not 30.06 compliant (or enforceable, I assume, being at Fair Park)
