Plastic arrived today!!

I kinda bailed on tradition and went to Lowe's instead of Walmart.

Checked the status this morning....

"Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"

Talked with DPS rep this morning. She says that my license will be mailed today and I should wait 7 to 10 days for delivery. I am holding off my enthusiam till I see my status change on the website.

I call this morning just to be told that they are still waiting on my DPS background check and that it is likely to be 30 to 45 more days. '

Is it really that hard for everyone to be on the same page? If the background checks aren't done, just say that they are not done. It gives me the impression that some of them are giving the same story to everyone that calls.

At this point, I can't tell if they are just giving a canned answer or my background checks ARE actually done.

Everything has been completed. Mine application is in the "queue", waiting on "imaging." ,and shouldn't be more than three weeks out.

I'm assuming that my license is basically waiting in line to be printed.

Update....

I received the letter in the mail yesterday stating that I had neglected to fill out the eye color box, nothing more. Shame on me for filling out everything correctly, but how does the DPS not know my eye color? Anyway, I already knew about the eye color problem a couple of days ago, and was told that this could be corrected via email. But, I faxed a corrected application to them today anyway, and I will still mail them a corrected application also.

I called the DPS to confirm the fax, which they can't/won't do. I was told to check back with them some time next week. Also, I was told a week ago that both background checks were done. This morning, I was told that they were waiting on both BGs to come back.

I can't tell you how much I hate the DPS at the moment.

Called the DPS this morning, was basically told that my application wasn't in the system and they had no intention of looking for it. After 82 days I'm a little worried that it may of gotten lost, buried etc. Later this morning, I recieved an email from the DPS stating that my application was indeed recieved on the 22nd of April, and that I had neglicted to fill out the eye color box on the application. I emailed them back the correct information, and they said that it would be corrected on my application. I don't know whether the sudden change was due to my phone call this morning, the emails to the State Rep, Senator, and Gov. office, or just plain luck. To tell the truth, I'm just excited to see any type of progress.

Today I sent emails to my state rep, senator, and to the Gov's office. I will see how that pans out.

Just got an email from the DPS. My application still has not been entered into the system.

I sent them a response asking why my application hasn't been entered in 80 days.
