To be "meek" because you are powerless is not a virtue; to be humble when you are strong is to acknowledge that the true strength is not from you but from your Creator.
The best definition for meek I have heard, meekness is power under control. Jesus was meek, he had the power to summon 12 legions of angels when He was taken in the garden. He did not do that because He was going to accomplish the Father's will. That is meekness.

There is nothing wrong with a Christian defending yourself or others. It it were wrong Biblically, no Christian could be in the military or law enforcement.
