I thought that he was an excellent actor.

I think it is extremely sad that anyone becomes an addict, let alone die from it.

In my personal experience hard-core addicts generally have a difficult enough time just living a simple life, so It amazes me that such a good actor was able to practice his craft as he did while an addict.
This has taken me totally by surprise.
