When shooting I seperate each side to a particular job, the right side in aiming, trigger control, and surveying the weapon for proper operation. Left eye and left side is used for support tasks, malfunction clearing, and more accurate conformation of hits on target with the information used to change the aiming on the right hand.

Short answer: Aint' nutin' wrong, teach him what you can but allow him to develop his own style. :thumbs2:

Question to OP: What does he naturally try to do when you hand him a weapon?

I am almost 53 and didn't find out I was left-eye dominant (right-handed) until I was in my late 40's.
I have only recently started shooting handguns with my left eye, with a right-hand grip. It seems to work better.
I have always shot Expert (USMC and USA) with the M-16/M-4 so I have made absolutely no attempts to adjust from my traditional right-hand/right-eye shooting technique for Rifles.
