Are they hoping that the reader presumes that the windshield was shot out?
If I were a driver with a rifle, I certainly wouldn't have it draped over the steering wheel. I seriously doubt that I would consider shooting out my own windshield as an option. The weapon would be leaning out my drivers side window, or the passenger window.
I agree that the "victim" and the news are showing us only one view of the whole series of events.

I would really be interested in the follow-up on this....if there is any.
I don't understand why anyone could get away with discharging a firearm at anyone else and not be hauled off to jail. As the alleged-victim stated, there should be no need for him to press charges.
