Probable cause?

I don't see why you were stopped, period. They made no statements about you resembling a suspect or some other "reason" for pulling you in particular, aside.

This actually sounds like an illegal stop to me. I personally would have been very upset and immediately gone to the nearest police/sheriff station to file a complaint.
