Re: Preferred Daily carry Ammo

I carry gold dot 125 gr in my 357 sig chambered guns, I carry gold dot 125 gr +P in my .38 specials and .357 magnums. I carry the golden saber 124gr +P or the 127gr T series Ranger ammo in my 9x19s. I always carried Hornady XTP 90gr when I carried 380s. I also carry Black Hills 180gr JHPs in the 45acp chambered guns. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the speer gold dot products, and the same for Winchester's PDX, SXT, Remington Golden Saber, or Hornady XTP. I've also used a bit of Federal's Hydra shock stuff, it's reliable and accurate too. I just think that when you choose a defensive round, you need to test it for function in your gun, I've shot close to 200 rds of the gold dot 357 through my G32 and G33, to make sure they cycle and that they are accurate. As far as accuracy goes, the Golden Saber seems to be the most accurate in most of my guns, but's its real pricey and they don't make a 357sig load. The speer products have a great track record in LE use, and I've always used their hunting bullets too so I guess it's a natural choice for me. The Hornady XTP bullets are exceptionally accurate, especially from my .38s, but the Speer round gets almost 150 more FPS in my testing, so I'll take the extra velocity over a very slight degrade in accuracy. I know it really hurts to pull the trigger on $2 a pop cartridges, but to me at least it's worth knowing how fast they are from MY gun, and that they will cycle reliably, and hit point of aim. Just pick a good brand, and make sure you get enough to test some of it, and I don't think you can go wrong.
